"The Time When Love Was New" - 18" x 24"

Finished at last! I've been working for weeks to get this painting finished for the Boat show at Wally Workman Gallery in Austin. The deadline for getting it to them is tomorrow, the 28th. I got it framed, boxed up and on it's way yesterday. Hopefully they will get it in time. Don't you just love that blue Adirondack chair on top of the houseboat? By the way, I took the reference photo when I was in Seattle a little over a year ago. I love the flowers on the row boat but have no idea what it was going to be used for. It did strike me as being romantic so I gave it a romantic title.

This is fabulous! rich in color and composition! How do you like working with oils now? Looks like you've been doing it all your life!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate all your comments. Pablo, you want to know how I like working in oils...the jury is still out on that. I find that I'm trying to handle them like I do colored pencil so it's just as tedious and it takes just as long but with a whole lot of mess. I did have to get away from them and do a colored pencil piece but as soon as I'm finished I'll be picking the oils up again. I already have two started. I think I need to relax a little and let them flow. I certainly have not done that but I'm still excited and can't wait to get started again.
